Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is famous Indian actress, known for parts in the film Hum Aapke Koun. Her first fame was the role she played in the 1980s film Tezaab where she co-starred with veteran actor Anil Koopor. Then, she starred alongside Aamir on Dil. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she started learning dancing at a young age. As a teen, she attempted acting, but the majority of those early films were unsuccessful. She eventually became one of the most famous actresses in Indian film. In the aftermath of her wedding, she took a short time off from her acting career until she returned. In the last few years, Dixit had a major role to play as a character in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. In addition, she has been recognized for her work in the field of social work.
